Double, Double, Toil and Trouble

Brett decided he wanted to be a "Mad Scientist" yesterday - and stayed pretty busy with his concoctions. He even has several "saved" dishes in the refrigerator which I can take to school and drink when I get thirsty.
By the time he got all his things gathered together there were enough dishes and utensils on the table to eventually fill the dishwasher!

Several trips to the bathroom were necessary to get a little more water - and wouldn't you know it, it always spilled "just a little bit" so we had towels and paper towels pretty handy to clean up any messes.

I think this dish contained oatmeal, flour, sugar, salt, pepper, sprinkles, and corn syrup. He thought it tasted a little spicy!

Our final product - lets DIG IN!!

Reunion at Wartburg

Oh, how the campus has changed! Saturday two college friends and I reconnected and reminisced about old times and caught up on each of our lives. We had so much to share.

This is where it all began. I lived in the central dorm (Centennial) and my senior year I lived in Vollmer. During the summer months I lived in Hebron. Velda and I were roommates my senior year.

Oh, the fountain!! How many times was it filled with kids being pushed in - or kids falling in - or filled with suds!!

While it does not seem as though we have changed, I have to admit I did not recognize Velda when she purposely stepped in front of me at a Lori Line concert. Dorothy did not know me on Saturday (she did not know I was coming). It has been forty years, and I did catch her off guard.

Before parting we decided to go to the "Den" for something to drink.. You Wartburg graduates - can you believe they had not heard of Brownie Goops!! We have already made plans to get together in a couple months.

Grandparents Day at Daycare

Brett is sharing his alphabet book with Grandma Patti and "Papa." They made this book at daycare.
Brett is busy finding the letters that spell his name so he can autograph his picture in the frame. It was his gift to us.

He has them both done - that took alot of work - those letters were small and sticky.

Time to get out the snacks. Brett set the table for us and all of the other children had to wait patiently for their snack until we were served. That is the polite thing to do!

Addie is in the background - she is Brett's good little friend.

Patti has a lapful of kids! The little ones love the attention and they all get to share grandma's at Grandparents Day.

After we took Brett home we stayed for a sandwich and the boys had to get out their fake teeth - aren't they disgusting!!

Brett looks a little like Bugs Bunny in this picture!

Bikin' Like the Big Boys

Drew comes out of the garage and is all decked out in a helmet and bike that he found in there.
The helmet is a little big but he knows he has to wear it - good thing for training wheels
Could we get any closer to the red car? He didn't add any new scratches to it, however!

And we are off to the races - so what if the helmet is a little big!

Fun On Wheels

I"m thinking Dane was a little heavy on one end!! He laughed about it though.
Brett is determined to use the bungy cord to strap Drew and the trike to the grill.

He isn't very happy because he can't get the job done!

Back to the drawing board - and Drew just sits patiently letting Brett give it one more try!

Dane does fill up the wagon - but Drew thinks Dane is pretty funny.

Brett gave up on the bungy cord so now he is using it to pull Reagan and give her a ride.

The kids loved riding their bikes, trikes, scooters in the new shed. They even played "bumper cars" and had a ball.

Freimuth/Schroeder Wedding

Sunday, September 6, 2009 at 2:00 in the afternoon, Tiffany Schroeder and Josh Freimuth exchanged wedding vows. The ceremony was held at the home of Mike and Debbie Holtapp and Jerry Schultz officiated at the wedding. The weather was gorgeous for a lovely outdoor ceremony attended by family and close friends. A reception for the newlyweds was held later in the afternoon. Tiffany's sister and Josh's twin brothers were attendents. Music was provided by Stacy Johnson (now Aunt Stacy) and Dane shared his singing talents with "Jesus Loves Me." He did a great job. Clay seated the grandparents - and how fortunate the bride and groom have all their grandmothers' yet. Josh escorted the mother of the bride and the mother of the groom to their seats. I'm not sure who Tiffany it visiting with but it looks like she is enjoying the conversation.

Tiffany and her mother sharing some time together.

Brian and Linda Heide have just arrived. Linda and Tiffany share the responsibilities of teaching third graders at RCL this year. I have a feeling third graders are not uppermost on Tiff's mind today!

Looks like parenthood will suit them both just fine - although this baby is just a guest at the wedding!!
